Its was 38 years ago today that my Ma and Pa tied the knot. They did the daring deed in the King's Head Pub in Harrow on the Hill. They had a
Chuppa in the Garden and the reception in the beerhall. The entire wedding cost them £90.
I found some photos. Here are the highlights:

who's the guy to mom's left in the last picture?
It's the rabbi. He was a customer at the Israel-British Bank, where mom worked as an NCR Financial Account Entry clerk. She asked the rabbi to officiate, which he did, free of charge; bringing the chuppa with him.
This is, of course, the same bank for which Joey Bloomberg worked.
Mom just told me that the story of the cake is very important:
Dad got all the food from Blooms Factory. There he bought kosher salads, breads and meats that Sunday morning of the wedding. The cake, however, came from Gruzinski Kosher Bakers. The story goes that Dad liked the cake so much, that after the wedding he wouldnt let mom take pieces to work. He ate it all himself.
i really love these images. i like your mom's veil and ruffled collar. your dad looks a little pensive in the last shot, maybe he's busy planning his argument for consuming the cake, "look Pooa, i bought this cake and you spent so much on your veil and ruffled collar i think i deserve to finish the cake".
kol ha kavod! what an excellent use of this blog. I know there are some baby pics of Mom where she looks shockingly like Ines. Can you hook that up?
